In the afternoon on Saturday, the Timberstone was tranformed again…this time it was a dairy. We watched as Elizabeth Gamsky Rich milked a goat by hand and then demonstrated the process of making three kinds of cheese.
Elizabeth is from the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund. She is a lawyer but also owns a small creamery. I believe the large crowd was expecting more legal advice and less cheese making. I know I was a bit disappointed when someone asked about the “stay out of jail” part of her session and she said, “Just check out the website if you have any questions.” I did get a few cheesemaking tips so the session wasn’t a total waste-just not what I was hoping for.
