Help with this Site

This site is a work in progress. We would like people to be able to quickly and easily participate in this site, and we are constantly working to make it better.

Introduction and site plan

This site consists of links, forums, and blogs that address topics related to the mission and vision of Big Oak Ridge. These topics include, but are not limited to:

1. Building one another up in the most holy faith.

2. Preaching the gospel, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons.

3. Feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, housing the homeless, visiting those in prison.

4. Setting the captives free.

Forums are provided discussing these and other topics. Blogs are provided for each registered user of the site. The blogs are the responsibility of the blog owner, but they are monitored by the site admins for appropriateness of content, etc. Links provide access to information and sites outside of this one that are related to the vision of this site.

1. Requests for access and/or new content

Please use the “contact” link from the left sidebar or the “Contact Us” link from the header menu to contact us if you would like additional access to the site or if you would like new content added. Also, if you are having trouble posting items, please feel free to email your item to us and we will post it for you.

2. Posting (Registered members only)

Simple posts may be created by using the “create content” link on the left sidebar. You must be a registered member to post new articles.

3. Pictures and images can be incorporated into a post by using these steps:

a. click on “attach image” on the toolbar (looks like a little picture of, well, a picture.)

b. click on “browse server”

c. click on “upload”

d. click on “browse” and find the image you want on your hard drive.

e. click on “upload” (to the right of the “browse” button.)

f. with the newly uploaded image highlighted, click on the “fckeditor” button.

g. the image should now appear in the compose window of your post.

I know that’s a lot of work for an image; we’re hoping this feature improves with future software updates.

Posts can be revised even after publication by navigating to the post and using the “edit” hyperlink that appears near the title of the article. Note that you can only edit entries that you authored.

Additional Posting Options We have recently incorporated a sort of “WYSIWYG” (what you see is what you get) editing module. When you post you will see a menu bar at the top of the content window similar to a Microsoft Office toolbar. You can use the features on this menu much the same way you would use the features in a word processing program to make text BOLD, italics, underlined, etc. the button marked “source” will also let you switch back and forth between HTML and “WYSIWYG” modes.

3. Comments (anyone)

Comments in response to already posted items in blogs or forums can be added by simply clicking on the “add comment” link at the bottom of an article. Note that comments on this site are moderated; your comment will be approved by a site administrator and published on approval. We welcome dissenting viewpoints and valid discussion. Profanity, personal attacks, or comments that are “off topic”are not generally accepted. The web admins reserve the right to reject any comments deemed inappropriate.Comments may be posted anonymously , however, we do encourage you to register if you’d like to get the full benefit of this site.
